The Super Bowl is just about a week away and I’m already planning my snack and drink menu. Have you guys started yet? If not, you should definitely consider adding this baby to your list! I’m upgrading a traditional root beer float to an adult level, that’s perfect for game day! These caramel whiskey root beer floats are easy to make and delicious too!
They are creamy and sweet, but have the perfect pop of adult flavor in there too with the added shot of whiskey! An unexpected, but delicious addition to a child favorite!
Here’s what you’ll need to make your own:
- 1 oz. Whiskey
- 1/2 oz. Caramel Flavored Creamer
- 12 oz. Root Beer
- 1-2 Scoops Caramel Ice Cream
- Caramel Syrup, To Taste
Drizzle some caramel syrup into the bottom of your glass.
Add the whiskey and the caramel flavored creamer.
Add root beer to the glass, until 3/4 of the way full, and top with 1-2 scoops of caramel ice cream. But be careful…the root beer likes to foam up and will spill out of the glass. (I might know this from experience). So take it slow!
Drizzle with additional caramel syrup and top with a caramel square for a fun garnish that your guests can snack on!
You can also make these caramel whiskey root beer floats into a mocktail by simply omitting the whiskey, so that non-drinkers and kids can enjoy too!
If you want to add an additional fun element to your glasses, use white tape or adhesive vinyl to create football “stitching” on the outside of your glasses! They are completely removable after your party and add the perfect game day touch! (I used white duct tape on my glasses and tore the strips to look more like fabric stitching).
