Easter is over and we’re heading into the meaty part of April (yeah, I said meaty…it just sounded good) and you know what that means…Cinco De Mayo is our next holiday and it happens to be right around the corner!
Cinco de Mayo is definitely a fun holiday and if you’re as excited about it as I am, you’ll be jazzed about today’s post.
Sure, you could totally serve a traditional margarita to your party guests, but where’s the fun in that?
Spice them up a bit and add a fun twist, like this Blackberry Jalapeño Margarita recipe!
They go down smooth and are uber delish. My family is already hooked on them, so be prepared to make a few 😉
Here’s what you’ll need to make your own:
- 4 slices of fresh Jalapeño
- 4-6 fresh blackberries
- 2 oz. lime juice
- 2 oz. agave
- 2 oz blackberry liquor
- 4 oz tequila
- salt and fresh lime wedge for rim
Rub your lime wedge around the rim of your glass and dip into salt.
In a shaker, muddle fresh jalapeno slices and blackberries.
Add the agave, blackberry liquor, and tequila to the shaker.
Add ice to the shaker and shake well.
Strain into your glass, add ice, and a lime wedge for the garnish.
Even with the addition of the muddled jalapeños, they are not very spicy. I was a little worried about the spice factor at first too (I am not into spicy anything!), but it adds just the perfect bite of flavor to this baby! If you want to up the heat factor, just add a few more slices of jalapeño to your shaker.
And can we talk about how cute those little cactus glasses are?…Am I right?!
Check out the post here to see how easy it is to make your own using glasses from the DOLLAR store! Yep, ridic.
Don’t say I didn’t warn you about how good this blackberry jalapeño margarita recipe is either!
