This DIY sprinkle photobooth backdrop is a cinch to make, so colorful and fun, and won’t break the bank! It’s perfect for your next party!
Now that Valentine’s Day is over, it’s time to celebrate all of the other important occasions in life…like weekends, and cake, and things like that. (I said important).
I’m a huge sprinkles fan and there’s really no other cupcake topper that scream “PARTY” like brightly colored sprinkles. And you can’t really document an awesome party without a photobooth. So I combined my love for both and created a super simple way to make your very own DIY sprinkle photobooth backdrop!
With only a few supplies and a blank wall or paper roll, you’ll be ready to celebrate and take some awesome pictures too!
Here’s what you’ll need to make your own:
- Vinyl Sheets in a Variety of Colors (I used purple, pink, blue, yellow, green, and teal)
- Scissors or a Paper Cutter
- A White Wall or White Butcher Paper
You can find vinyl sheets at your local craft store. (The kind used for wall quotes and designs) You want the kind that is sticky on the backside, since you’ll be sticking them directly to your wall or butcher paper. But don’t worry, they peel right off when you’re done!
Using your scissors or paper cutter, cut out long rectangular strips, about 1 inch wide. Then, cut separate pieces from your strip that are 2.5 inches tall. This shape will resemble a sprinkle when placed on the wall for your backdrop. We want them to stand out after all!
Repeat this process for all of your colors, until you have enough to cover the space for your backdrop.
Remove the paper backing from your vinyl “sprinkles” and place them on the wall or onto your butcher paper in a random pattern, changing the direction of them as you go. The backdrop should look like a jar of sprinkles was scattered on your wall.
Next, set up a camera and assign a photographer to capture you and your guests in action!

I love the color it adds to the photos and honestly, who doesn’t love sprinkles?!

This is so cute! I’m planning to do a sprinkle themed birthday party for my daughter and I was wondering if the vinyl sheets would stick well on fabric like a white bed sheet?

I think the vinyl sheets would stick to a bed sheet, but I’m not sure how long they would last? It’s definitely worth a shot though!
