Celebrate the season by hosting an easy Halloween scary movie night! I’m sharing some tips, recipes, and fun ideas for you to host your own!
I love a good movie night! There’s nothing like getting cozy, eating yummy snacks, and watching fun movies in the comfort of your own home. But, it’s definitely better with friends….right? This year, I hosted a Halloween scary movie night with a few of my close girlfriends. It’s an easy way to get together, celebrate the holiday, and get scared! 😉
First up, you have to invite some guests! I love this DIY movie night invitation. These invitations are simple to make, inexpensive, spooky, and will get your guests into the movie watching spirit!
When it comes to the actual movies, this ultimate Halloween movie list will give you some great ideas, whether you’re looking to host the ultimate scare fest, or just want some family friendly Halloween fun!
For decor, stick to simple ideas. Pumpkins, skulls, skeletons, fresh blooms, and candles all contribute to the ambiance of the night. You can also add some spider webs for a spooky touch. And don’t forget pillows and blankets for your guests to curl up with too!
One of the best things about watching movies at home is being super duper cozy. So to add a fun (and comfy!) element to the party, I created these DIY Halloween movie night pajamas for my girlfriends to wear. They are simple to make and fun to customize. I paired them up with some fun Halloween socks and tied them with ribbon. A fun favor idea, that doubles as the perfect party attire too! 😉
You guys should know that I take snacking VERY seriously. Because, let’s be honest…snacks can take a good movie night to the next level!I love giving my guests something that gets them involved, so I put together a DIY popcorn bar! It’s really easy to set up and gives guests the opportunity to create their perfect popcorn combination! Or allows them to try a few different ones! Sugar skulls, sprinkles, different chocolate candies, licorice, chocolate chips, gummy worms, candy corn, and marshmallows are all great ideas to set out as toppings. Different popcorn flavor powders, like cheddar cheese, cinnamon sugar, or salt and vinegar, are also a great way to give your guests some flavor options!
When guests found a seat for the movies, I wanted them to have an easy way to carry all of their snacks with them, so I ordered these fun snack trays, and added some fun googly eyes to them for an added Halloween touch! I popped in a box of some classic movie candies and tied up these vampire fang gummies for some additional yummy fun!
I picked up these fun disposable cups to use for my Halloween scary movie night. I love that they have lids and replicate drinks you’d get at the theater! I served this fun, fruity, and delicious mocktail that is a breeze to whip up and has the perfect Halloween touch with the addition of vampire fangs!
