I’m officially kitchen-less and it feels so weird! I’m living in that limbo moment of time where I’m still in Salt Lake City, minus a house, and not quite to Charlotte, in a rental. All of my normal cake supplies and baking tools are packed in boxes, sitting in a storage unit, and I’m completely relying on my sister’s house for anything I might have forgotten that I needed during this month. So when it came time to make this peaches and cream cake, I knew I could count on my friend Natalie (and her kitchen tools!) to help me pull it all together. (She’s the person I started this girl’s night with too!) It was also a really good excuse to get together to make one more cake before I head east!
A galette will always be one of those pastry recipes that wows. No matter what ingredients you choose to fill that flakey pastry dough with, it always looks impressive and gorgeous in an unfinished way. But don’t let it’s beauty intimidate you. A galette also happens to be one of the easiest pastries to make! With summer winding down, I’m sharing this easy cherry galette recipe to help you finish off all of those fresh end of summer cherries!
For once, I’m actually happy that September is here. It signifies that all of my house stuff is FINALLY done and I’m gladly marking off each and every passing day on the new printable September 2019 calendar until I make my move over to Charlotte! Less than a month left!

Now that Fall is officially here and football has started, it’s time to roll out all of those delicious football party recipes! Snacks are great, but a good football cocktail recipe can go a long way. And this one is a winner! It’s light, refreshing, and delicious! Plus, it’s the perfect crisp drink to pair with your favorite salty snacks. The flavors appeal to a crowd and they’re so fast and easy to make that you can mix up a batch in no time!
This post has been a LONG time coming and, true to form, I waited until the very last minute to share it with you guys. Buuuuut, at least it’s getting done, right? I had this house built back in 2004 and it’s been home ever since. I’ve been adding finishing touches here and there, ever since I renovated it in 2016 (see the kitchen before photo below…yikes), but I never really felt like it was ever quite done, and honestly, I don’t know if you ever actually reach that point in a house. It seems like something is always a work in progress or I’m constantly searching for “the perfect” item to display on a shelf or hang on a wall. But, regardless, finishing the house was part of my 2019 goal list and I was determined to get it done! Annnnnnd then life had some unexpected surprises in store for me, like moving to North Carolina! So in a few weeks, I’ll be packing everything up and starting over across the country, but I still wanted to share my Utah house tour with you guys before I go! Also, fair warning…this is a loooooong post!
If you guys missed the news that I posted about earlier, I’m moving to Charlotte! After making that big decision and prepping for a cross country move, the next logical thought we had was, “So…where do we want to live?” Did we want to buy something move-in ready, build a new house, or renovate an older house? We didn’t really know which direction we wanted to go and didn’t know what areas/neighborhoods to focus on either. Neither one of us had lived in Charlotte before and had only visited the city a few times before deciding to make it our new home. If you couldn’t guess based on today’s post title, we ultimately ended up buying land and we’re getting ready to start building a new house. I’m going to be sharing the whole building process with you guys, but first, I’m diving into how we landed on our decision, and everything that went into picking and buying land!
I’m not sure how summer temps have been in the rest of the country lately, but Utah has been hitting over 100 degrees these last few days! Bring on all of the frozen drinks and pool days please! But if you combine those sunny and hot days with an extra dry desert climate, you’ve got a recipe for a dry skin disaster. I can always tell when my skin needs an extra little moisture boost and when it does, I head into my kitchen to whip up this easy DIY avocado aloe face mask!
As if I needed an excuse to add more burgers into my life…(I don’t), today’s post is bringing all of those summer BBQ dreams to life with this fun printable burger party garland! Perfect to string up and use for your outdoor parties and barbecues while the temps are still warm!
