This week I’ve been wrapping and shipping out Christmas gifts like a mad women and have been trying to plan out the last details for our Elf on the Shelf. My stepson also notified me that chocolate chip cookies are the ONLY acceptable option to bake for Santa Claus (since they’re his favorite), so I’m on the hunt for the perfect recipe. If you’re still in the mood for some holiday baking, this gingerbread bundt cake recipe should definitely be added to your list. It tastes like how I imagine the holiday season would, if the holiday season had a taste. It’s got all of those warm and spicy notes and the glaze is sooooo good too.
Cinnamon Roasted Almonds
There’s just something so magical about the scents that bring back so many memories during the holiday season. One of those scents for me is cinnamon roasted almonds being made at the local mall. Granted, I probably loved being at the mall and shopping just as much, but we’d always buy a little paper cone filled with these amazing cinnamon and sugar coated nuts every year, and it’s one of those traditions that I grew up loving and associated with the holidays.
Now that I’m older, I try to avoid the mall crowds as much as possible, ha, but I still LIVE for this sweet treat, so I found a way to make my own cinnamon roasted almonds at home, which I can make in my pj’s without even having to leave the house. The recipe is so easy to make and your house will smell amazing while they bake too! [Read more…]

My Favorite Cookbooks
I’ll be the first to admit that I have a cookbook obsession. It’s hard not to add another one into the cart (and to my growing collection) when the images on every page are so stunning and the recipes make me want to run into the kitchen to become the next Food Network star. For the last few years, I’ve been trying to make an effort to reach for one of them when I’m looking for recipe inspiration, instead of searching online. Yes, online recipes are easy to find and there are SO many great ones out there, but I always seem to forget that I have amazing options sitting right in front of me too! If you’re like me, or just want to jump start your holiday baking, I’m sharing some of my favorite cookbooks with you guys today, which I’ve somehow managed to narrow down, which is no small feat!
