You’ve all heard of wine and cheese pairings, but with National Donut Day so close, I’m kicking it up a notch with a fun twist on tradition. These donut and wine pairings are a fun way to celebrate the upcoming best day of the year foodie holiday, or any day for that matter! Plus, I’m including a pairing printable that you can download and print to use for your own tasting experience or party! Trust me….these pairings are delish! 😉
DIY Pom Pom Balloon Tails
There are some special events that just don’t feel complete without balloons. (Birthdays being one of them!) But sometimes a basic balloon can feel a little lackluster and boring. By dressing up a few details you can make the balloons at your next event a little more than just basic!
This project is easy and adds the perfect party touch! With a little hot glue and some puffy pom poms, you can make these DIY pom pom balloon tails and add an unexpected punch of fun and a pop of color to your next party!
Dog Birthday Cake Recipe
Is Fido turning another year older? This dog birthday cake recipe is super easy to make and will get you two paws up from your furry friend!
I’m definitely a dog person. I have been my whole life. I’m also a birthday person. Maybe not so much that whole part about turning another year older, but I do love any excuse to get together with friends and family and celebrate over cake, because…CAKE. Enough said there. (And, just for the record, a birthday is not a birthday without cake!) So, as much as my own dogs are a part of my family, you can bet that I’m going to celebrate their yearly milestones too!
Today’s dog birthday cake recipe has been given two paws up by my own pugs and is really easy to make. I’m sure the pups in your life will be just as happy to turn another year older too, if they know this cake is on the menu!
Birthday Cake Hot Chocolate Recipe
This birthday cake hot chocolate is easy to make, delicious, and there are sprinkles involved. Find out how to make your own batch for an upcoming birthday!
March is one of my favorite months. I may be a little bit biased, since my birthday takes place in March, but to me it signifies a fresh start. Spring is starting to peek it’s little head out of the snow filled clouds, bulbs are starting to shoot up out of the ground, and yes, I turn another year
older wiser. Â As I get older, I dread some things, but I’ve actually learned to appreciate each and every new year that hits me. And so far, the 30’s have been the best yet. (I might change my tune when I hit 40. I’ll keep you guys posted). This year, I was lucky enough to celebrate surrounded by friends, but there is one thing that I can think of that would have made my birthday that much better…Birthday cake hot chocolate!
Birthday Calendar Printable
There are a lot of things I want to do in 2016 and a lot of goals I want to meet. Whether or not you are someone that sets “resolutions” or goals for a new year, I still think it’s important to challenge yourself to try new things, break bad habits, or to make improvements to your daily lives, regardless of it being the beginning of a new year or not.
One of the things that I always try to do is to create little highlights in other people’s days. It can be as simple as sending a little note or putting together a care package, just because, to send their way. I’ve found that it can really cheer someone up when they’re having a bad day or when they just need a little pick me up. Plus, it couldn’t be more simple to do!
This year, one of the ways I’m going to go this is to send a birthday card to my friends and family in the mail. Yes, the ACTUAL mail. Not a birthday message on Facebook, not a text message, an actual card that is sent by way of USPS. Crazy, right? (Yes, that is sarcasm at it’s finest).
The days of sending sail mail are definitely behind us and I don’t want to lose out on the highlights that an actual piece of mail can bring. When our mailboxes are usually stuffed with ads, bills, and catalogs, it’s nice to get something else in the mail that you actually want to receive.
I’ve partnered up with Tiny Prints and we’d love to challenge you guys to do the same with the ‘Birthday Card Initiative’ this year for the people in your lives too!
It’s definitely an easy thing to do and I’m making it even easier for you to track all of your upcoming birthdays with a free birthday calendar printable that you can download and print too!
Strawberry Shortcake Layer Cake
It’s definitely not a birthday without cake and there was no way I was going to let the blog’s 1/2 birthday slip by without whipping up a little something sweet!
But, with a birthday falling during the middle of the week, I opted for a bit of a short cut, instead of trying to make everything from scratch.
Yes, it’s nice to be able to say you made a cake from scratch now and then, but in reality, sometimes a box cake needs to come into play to save time and your sanity. Sandra Lee has this whole semi-homemade thing down, so why not?
Since we are smack dab in the middle of strawberry season right now, I wanted to create a fun cake that incorporated the yummy berries but didn’t want to make traditional strawberry shortcake….so instead, I made a layer cake incorporating the same flavors…
