Cinnamon Roasted Almonds

Dec 13 2019 by Ashley Leave a Comment

Cinnamon Roasted AlmondsCinnamon Roasted AlmondsThere’s just something so magical about the scents that bring back so many memories during the holiday season. One of those scents for me is cinnamon roasted almonds being made at the local mall. Granted, I probably loved being at the mall and shopping just as much, but we’d always buy a little paper cone filled with these amazing cinnamon and sugar coated nuts every year, and it’s one of those traditions that I grew up loving and associated with the holidays.

Now that I’m older, I try to avoid the mall crowds as much as possible, ha, but I still LIVE for this sweet treat, so I found a way to make my own cinnamon roasted almonds at home, which I can make in my pj’s without even having to leave the house. The recipe is so easy to make and your house will smell amazing while they bake too!  [Read more…]

Stocking Stuffer Ideas for Kids

Dec 9 2019 by Ashley Leave a Comment

Stocking Stuffer Ideas for KidsNow that we’ve covered the girls and the guys, it’s time to talk about some stocking stuffer ideas for kids! I wanted to put together some items that aren’t sweets and are things that kids will actually use. Some of them will even help your lives go a little easier too 😉 Getting them out from in front of a screen and doing something different was also up there on the top of my list, so a lot of these items are great for families, letting them get creative, or learning a few things too. Stocking Stuffer Ideas For Her

Dec 3 2019 by Ashley Leave a Comment

Stocking Stuffer Ideas For HerTis’ the season for gift giving and one of my VERY favorite things to shop for is stocking stuffers! I love thinking outside of the box and filling up stockings with gifts that people will actually use and enjoy. It’s too easy to fill a stocking with junk that’s just going to sit and get dusty, so take the time to put a little more energy into them and grab some unexpected stocking stuffer gifts that will be a hit! I’ll be sharing 3 different stocking stuffer gift lists this week, and today it’s all about stocking stuffer ideas for her! [Read more…]

My Favorite Cookbooks

Nov 22 2019 by Ashley Leave a Comment

My Favorite CookbooksI’ll be the first to admit that I have a cookbook obsession. It’s hard not to add another one into the cart (and to my growing collection) when the images on every page are so stunning and the recipes make me want to run into the kitchen to become the next Food Network star. For the last few years, I’ve been trying to make an effort to reach for one of them when I’m looking for recipe inspiration, instead of searching online. Yes, online recipes are easy to find and there are SO many great ones out there, but I always seem to forget that I have amazing options sitting right in front of me too! If you’re like me, or just want to jump start your holiday baking, I’m sharing some of my favorite cookbooks with you guys today, which I’ve somehow managed to narrow down, which is no small feat!

Pumpkin Biscuits (with Maple Butter)

Nov 18 2019 by Ashley Leave a Comment

Pumpkin Biscuits (with Maple Butter)Pumpkin seems to become a trending topic during the fall and winter months, but after you make these easy pumpkin biscuits (with maple butter no less!) you might start incorporating pumpkin year round. They come together in no time and have the perfect hint of pumpkin in each and every bite. And can we talk about that maple butter…? The sweetness takes these pumpkin biscuits to another level and I won’t fault you for trying to find other things to spread it on. It’s that good.  [Read more…]

How To Make Shaped Butter

Nov 15 2019 by Ashley Leave a Comment

How To Make Shaped ButterThanksgiving is less than two weeks away and, thankfully, I think I’m off the hook for preparing dinner this year. It’s my first year close to Josh’s family and I was fully prepared to be the one hosting everyone in our rental house, which would have been less than ideal. But Josh’s aunt saved the day and invited us over to her place. Not sure I’ll get so lucky next year though. 😉 If you’re in charge of dinner prep for your family’s thanksgiving festivities this year, I’m sure you’re on the hunt for the perfect table setting and all of the yummy recipes. But one detail that often gets overlooked is the butter. It’s something simple, but with the easiest little entertaining trick you can turn it into a showstopper. In today’s post, I’m showing you guys how to make shaped butter, which is SO simple, but can really elevate your Thanksgiving table!
