I’m definitely more of a stay home and celebrate Valentine’s day kinda girl. I don’t love waiting hours for dinner at a restaurant, or making reservations 3 months in advance, but any excuse to make a delicious dessert to share with someone special….yep, count me in. And this one is a total winner! It’s easy to make, quick to bake, and who doesn’t love a warm cookie with a gooey center? Plus, it’s the perfect size for two! And did I mention red velvet? This red velvet skillet cookie for two just might become your new fave…and for good reason!
Blueberry Waffles with Lemon Curd
Breakfast has to be my favorite meal of the day. (Brunch included). I always loved when my mom would make it for dinner when I was growing up and I still make breakfast for dinner even now. (Because, let’s be honest, breakfast for dinner is ahhhh-mazing). I plan my vacations around which breakfast spots I want to try, and I’m the first to suggest a brunch get together with friends. To say my life revolves around breakfast is a bit of a stretch, but not too far off. If there’s a griddle involved, I’m there. And these blueberry waffles with lemon curd are no exception. Fresh blueberries take this homemade waffle batter to another level and the lemon curd….sooooooo good. They are the perfect meal to make for breakfast or brunch this weekend (or dinner, if you’re feeling crazy 😉 )
DIY Homemade Gummy Worms
Creepy, crawly, and delicious DIY homemade gummy worms make the perfect October Halloween treat! And the recipe is so easy!
No matter how old I get, I still love gummy worms! I sneak them into my cart at the grocery store check out, grab a bag of them at the gas station, and my fellow passengers can almost always count on them as a road trip staple. But, this month, in honor of my very favorite holiday, I figured that I’d take a stab (no Halloween pun intended) at making one of my favorite sweets. These DIY homemade gummy worms turned out even better than I planned and now I’m a convert. They are more flavorful than the store bought ones and I got to pick out my own flavors too. Plus, during the month of October, these little guys seem especially fitting! Who doesn’t love creepy, crawly, and delicious gummy worms during Halloween?!
Mint Chocolate Marshmallows
From what I’ve read around the web, I’m not the only one intimidated by the thought of making my own marshmallows. I don’t know what it is about those pillowey little clouds of sugar, but they are intimidating AF. (Don’t you guys agree?!) I’ve attempted them once before, only to throw the whole batch in the trash, but my stubbornness won out and I gave them another shot. And, boooooy, am I glad that I did! Not only are they actually really easy to make when you get the concept down, but they are sooooo much better than store bought mallows. I’m not even a marshmallow girl, but I’d definitely snack on a few of these mint chocolate marshmallows!
