Christmas is right around the corner and although I won’t be shaking up festive drinks or making fancy appetizers for friends this year, I’m still going to imagine the party that will be going down next year, complete with this Christmas cocktail party playlist blaring through the speakers! And, until then, I’m going to dance around in my sweatpants instead!
Get Up and Move Playlist
I’ve officially been working from home for two full weeks now and my company is set to stay home for at least another month. (Thanks Corona!) In the beginning, I was allll about working from home. Saving time on my morning commute, strolling down to my desk in pj’s, and happy hours whenever I felt like it. And while working from home absolutely does have it’s perks (like those above), it also sucks feeling like you’re stuck inside sitting and staring at a computer all day. Lately I’ve been trying to find ways to spend the hours after work and during my make-shift “lunch breaks” to get up and get active, which totally helps to keep my mood lifted. One thing that helps? Good music! Today I’m sharing something I put together to inspire you guys to get active too. This get up and move playlist is filled to the brim with songs that always seem to inspire bad dance moves and lip sync performances of the best kind.
So grab your dancing shoes (or cozy slippers, like the ones I’ve been living in), get up and move! [Read more…]
Easy Apple and Brie Appetizer
I couldn’t help but squeeze one last blog post into 2019, because this one is so simple and is a perfect appetizer to make to ring in the new year! My family has an on-going new year’s eve dinner tradition that I love. We always get together as a family to game plan our appetizer line up, then my mom gathers all the ingredients and makes all the yummy treats. (Don’t worry…we help too). For “dinner” we just fill up our plates with snacks. What’s better than that?! You get a little taste of everything and can keep going back for more until you’re stuffed! It’s the perfect way to indulge one last time before the holiday season is over. Whether you’re braving the crowd to celebrate with friends or staying in and celebrating in pj’s and eating appetizers like me, this easy apple and brie appetizer takes no time to throw together so you can enjoy them before heading out, bring them with you to a party, or snack on them while hanging on the couch.

How To Make Shaped Butter
Thanksgiving is less than two weeks away and, thankfully, I think I’m off the hook for preparing dinner this year. It’s my first year close to Josh’s family and I was fully prepared to be the one hosting everyone in our rental house, which would have been less than ideal. But Josh’s aunt saved the day and invited us over to her place. Not sure I’ll get so lucky next year though. 😉 If you’re in charge of dinner prep for your family’s thanksgiving festivities this year, I’m sure you’re on the hunt for the perfect table setting and all of the yummy recipes. But one detail that often gets overlooked is the butter. It’s something simple, but with the easiest little entertaining trick you can turn it into a showstopper. In today’s post, I’m showing you guys how to make shaped butter, which is SO simple, but can really elevate your Thanksgiving table!
