I’m in denial that summer is almost over, but the 100+ degree temps we’ve been having are making that thought hard to grasp. It’s these days that really make me wish I was sitting pool side in my backyard with a drink in hand. If you’re melting like I am lately, this watermelon limeade recipe is the perfect way to stay cool and sip something delicious while doing it!

Fresh fruit really help to make this drink stand out, so opt to use fresh limes for your juice instead of bottled, if possible. (Bottled still works if you’re in a pinch or don’t want to go to the trouble of squeezing your limes!)

You can also substitute the sugar for honey or agave nectar if you’re trying to stay away from granulated sugar. The ratios might differ a bit, so start slowly and taste as you go to reach the right sweetness level for you.

Here’s what you’ll need to make your own:

• 8 Cups Cubed Seedless Watermelon
• 1 Cup Lime Juice
• 1/2 Cup Sugar
• Lime Slices
• Mint

Add the lime juice and sugar to a pitcher.

Stir until all of the sugar has dissolved. Set aside.

In a blender, add half of the watermelon cubes and blend until smooth.

Add to the pitcher and repeat for the other half of the watermelon.

Stir the watermelon limeade until combined and place in the fridge to chill before serving.

When you’re ready to serve, add ice to your cups. Pour the watermelon limeade into each glass and top with sliced limes and a sprig of mint.
